Nottingham Trent University
Puppy Room - User Statement
In order to gain an understanding of how the users of the new Nottingham Trent 'Puppy Room' felt it benefitted them , I acquired a short statement with third year Product Design student, Rosie Souter, who has within recent weeks experienced the scheme:
" I went to the puppy room because it was at the beginning of a very
stressful deadline week and I hoped they would have a calming
influence on the start of it.
All the puppies were guide dog puppies with the youngest
being about 16 weeks old - I spent most of my time with
a 27 week old puppy called Isaac. It was a very
therapeutic experience as the dogs were so calm
and the general atmosphere of the room was very casual. I came away from the experience feeling a lot happier, calmer
and with a feeling of fufillment from knowing I'd helped the
charity by paying to attend and helped the dogs training. What I
most enjoyed was learning about the experience of being a guide
dog trainer and how the puppies got started on their training etc. "
